Why Did God Reject The Heroic, Tall and Brave King Saul? #238

Kings Cannot Be Priests, and Priests Cannot Be Kings (With ONE exception!)
King Saul was amazing to behold - he was several inches taller than any other Israelite, and was also brave, strong and bold. In addition - at least at the beginning of his reign - he seemed to be winsome, humble, self-effacing, and an admirer of Samuel, the righteous man of God. Unfortunately, very early in his reign, Saul did something that on the surface might seem like a minor transgression, but it ultimately cost him his throne. What did Saul do, and why was it a big deal?
