Sometimes the darkness doesn't lift fast enough, the trial doesn't end soon enough, and it seems like we are utterly abandoned and hopeless. Jeremiah was facing such a situation in Lamentations - probably a trial worse than any most of us have faced. He had been unjustly imprisoned, his house lost, his city burning, his King blinded and in captivity, and himself kidnapped and forced to go where he didn't want to go. How did Jeremiah find comfort and hope going through such terrible hardship?
